Women are the backbone of the society & play an important & multidimensional role in agriculture & rural economy. The 2015 United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 prioritizes gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls because both are fundamental human rights, and instrumentally, are foundational for a sustainable future. JK Trust through its initiative in skill development, agriculture & livestock has been supporting women for taking up sustainable livelihood activities. The trust has successfully implemented women empowerment project “Van Bhagini” in Gujarat which involved training tribal women as paravet to provide the essential veterinary services in tribal pockets of Gujarat. Skill training is providing to young women in garment sector with placement opportunities in garment industries under the women empowerment program of JK Trust.
