Objectives


  • Production of Upgraded/Crossbred cattle with better genetic make up for higher productivity resulting into enhanced milk production without any additional cost to the farmers.
  • Production of Upgraded/Crossbred cattle which will fetch better market price than that of indigenous cattle.
  • Conservation of indigenous dairy cattle breeds of India.
  • Development of nutritious fodder especially high in protein for arid and semi arid zones.
  • To impart training to the farmers:
  • To adopt 'Cattle Breed Improvement Programme' for production of high milk yielding cattle.
  • Management of crossbred/high milk yielding cattle.
  • Improved animal husbandry practices.
  • Improved fodder growing practices.
