Objectives

- Production of Upgraded/Crossbred cattle with better genetic make up for higher productivity resulting into enhanced milk production without any additional cost to the farmers.
- Production of Upgraded/Crossbred cattle which will fetch better market price than that of indigenous cattle.
- Conservation of indigenous dairy cattle breeds of India.
- Development of nutritious fodder especially high in protein for arid and semi arid zones.
- To impart training to the farmers:
- To adopt 'Cattle Breed Improvement Programme' for production of high milk yielding cattle.
- Management of crossbred/high milk yielding cattle.
- Improved animal husbandry practices.
- Improved fodder growing practices.
